RULE 143 – HIGH-STICKINGDEFINITION:
A player who carries his stick or any part of it above theheight of his shoulders and who strikes an opponent with any part of it.
i. A player who makes contact with an opponent with a high stick willbe assessed at least a minor penalty.
ii. A player who injures an opponent accidentally by a high-sticking foulwill be assessed a double-minor penalty.
iii. A player who injures an opponent by a careless high-sticking foul willbe assessed either a major penalty and automatic game-misconductpenalty or a match penalty.
iv. A player who makes contact with any part of an opponent’s upperbody while winding up to shoot or while following through on a shotor pass is subject to all penalties for high-sticking.
