Das gilt doch nur für Spiele, die Sky überträgt oder? Bei Puls24 wär mir das noch nie aufgefallen, wär aber trotzdem möglich, da ich die Spiele in der Regel sowieso erst nach der 48-Stunden-Sperre bei Blackouts anschaue.

Tuesday was one of those days down at TRIA Rink for the Wild, who are riding a five-game winless streak and are in desperate need of an injection of life, energy and excitement.

Much-ballyhooed first-round picks Marco Rossi and Matt Boldy, often linked together as if they’re joined at the hip, were recalled for the first time, fittingly as a package, and will each make their NHL debuts in Boston on Thursday night against the Bruins.

For Boldy, it comes 30 miles from his hometown of Millis, Mass., and six miles from the Boston College campus he played on. For Rossi, it comes exactly one year after he was diagnosed with the heart condition, myocarditis. Boldy will have a huge contingent of family and friends inside TD Garden, while Rossi’s mom and dad, who just returned from Iowa to their home in Austria on New Year’s Day, will repack and board a plane for Boston on Wednesday morning.

“They’re going to be Minnesota Wild hockey players (for a long time), right?” coach Dean Evason said. “Why not now? Why not?”

The much-anticipated Rossi and Boldy call-ups were simply the first in a string of Wild developments on the day.

In the meantime, Tuesday’s high-tempo, fast-paced practice and simulated game was mostly about seeing where Evason and the rest of the coaching staff would slot in Rossi and Boldy.

The top line of Kirill Kaprizov-Ryan Hartman-Zuccarello stayed intact, but Kevin Fiala, who has badly needed a lifeline at center for basically his entire Wild career, got the luxury of getting to skate next to the highly skilled Rossi. Marcus Foligno, whose usual linemates Greenway and Eriksson Ek are sidelined, played on the right side. Boldy played on the left side of Freddy Gaudreau and either Brandon Duhaime and Rem Pitlick, while speedy, hardworking Connor Dewar, who will play his fourth NHL game in Boston, skated with Nico Sturm and either Bjugstad or Rask.

Evason didn’t mince words as to why Rossi and Boldy, both 20 years old with bright careers ahead of them, were recalled after producing impressively with Iowa.

“Things haven’t gone well obviously as of late and we thought as a group that we needed an energy boost somehow,” Evason said. “Obviously Brodes is back, but we’re excited to get some new jump. We certainly had it in practice, but practice is practice. We liked our business-like attitude the last two days and getting some new blood in there feels real good.”

Evason said the most important thing is to put both Rossi and Boldy in positions to succeed. Rossi slid onto the first power play in practice with the Wild’s top line and Alex Goligoski. Boldy skated on the second unit with Fiala, Foligno, Gaudreau and Matt Dumba.

“They’re both going to play on the power play, they’re both going to get opportunities, not because we’re giving them an opportunity, (but) because our power play has sucked,” Evason said bluntly, referring to the Wild’s disappointing 25th-ranked power play. “And they’re power-play guys, so they should be put in that position to have success — clearly, for them, but most and more importantly for us. We’re not putting them there just to see if they can play. We’re putting them there to score goals.”

But, in the next breath, Evason said he wants to take pressure off both of them, make it clear they’re not in Minnesota to be season saviors and that they both have long careers ahead of them no matter how long they’re here.

The reality is, once healthy bodies come back and with no games between Saturday’s home game against Washington and next Friday’s against Anaheim, one or both likely will be reassigned to Iowa at some point soon.

Remember, too, as much as general manager Bill Guerin has denied this is part of his thinking, the Wild have a tight salary-cap squeeze the next three years, so it would actually make perfect business sense, as frustrating as this may be to read, to have Rossi play less than 10 games this season so his three-year contract slides a year down the road.

“If it doesn’t go exactly according to plan and they don’t score five goals in Boston and light up our PP, it’s OK,” Evason said. “It’s a process. We will evaluate and make decisions on everything as each day progresses here. We’re looking forward to having them in there. We’re not expecting them to lead our hockey club into the promise land, but we do want them to come in and do exactly how the Minnesota Wild play with grit, determination, heart and a skill set as well.”

The one person that was probably as excited to see the arrival of Rossi on Tuesday was Fiala, who has gotten the short shrift at center for much of his Wild tenure. He’s heating up lately, and perhaps playing with Rossi at even-strength will give him more opportunities to get the puck in scoring positions rather than always having to be the guy to create everything for whatever line he’s on.

“We love Kevin’s work ethic the last little while,” Evason said. “He’s just worked his butt off. He’s trying to work himself (out of a slow start), same as we’re trying to work ourselves out of a situation. Kevin’s trying to do the exact same thing and that’s all we can ask of him. We know he can score goals. He’s just got to work his butt off. And if Marco Rossi does what he does — he distributes the puck … we hope it’s a real successful line.”

Rossi and Boldy were each in Winnipeg with the Iowa Wild when Iowa coach Tim Army pulled them aside at the start of a pre-practice meeting. Army is known for his long meetings and video sessions, so Rossi was confused as to why Army wanted to see him.

Rossi’s first call was to his dad, Michael, a longtime former professional hockey player in Austria, and then to his girlfriend. Rossi said his father’s reaction was hilarious: “My dad was like, ‘What did you say?’ And asked me to repeat it again.”

“When I play in Iowa, you never know when the call-up is going to come, so my mind was in Iowa,” Rossi added. “I tried to get better there, and I wasn’t waiting for a call-up. I was just practicing my game.”

Rossi had 23 points in 21 games for Iowa, missing some time this season because of the flu and some neck pain after getting body-slammed to the ice last month. While Wild fans have been clamoring to finally get to see him, especially after Eriksson Ek was injured in the game prior to the Winter Classic, Rossi said he wasn’t getting impatient and understood that after not playing hockey all of last season, it was important for him to rediscover his game and his timing.

“I trust the process 100 percent,” he said. “I wasn’t waiting for it because if I was always waiting and looking at my phone, then it would take a long time. So I wasn’t really thinking about Minnesota, I was just thinking Iowa, and that’s the best thing to do because you’re not thinking much about it. … I feel more ready because I now have 20 more games in me.”

Unfortunately, because of COVID-19 protocols, players are no longer allowed to leave the hotel. That means Rossi and Boldy won’t be able to get together with their family and friends the night before the game and technically won’t be allowed to see them before or after the game at TD Garden.

But, it is cool that they’ll be able to experience their NHL debuts together. It feels like they’re a package deal at times, their names always uttered in the same breath.

“It takes a little bit of the nerves off, having each other just to talk through it a bit,” Boldy said. “Whatever you do in life, doing it with someone else makes it a little bit easier and a little bit less nerve-wracking. It’ll be beneficial for both of us here.”

Das kann man nicht so leicht beantworten, da hast eine Auswahl an über 500 Namen

Wenn ich mich nicht täusch, dürfte Rossi damit auch der jüngste Österreicher werden, der je ein NHL-Spiel bestritten hat oder? Vanek, Grabner und Nödl waren alle zumindest ein Jahr älter und die anderen (Raffl, Pöck, Brandner und Divis) sowieso

Ein sehr genialer takeaway im 2. Drittel bleibt mir auch noch in Erinnerung.
