    naja wer letzte saison verfolgt hat, dem war wohl schon ziemlich klar, dass Zagreb eher zulegen, denn abbauen wird heuer!
    macht die EBEL noch spannender :thumbup:

    Das frage ich mich auch - wie kommen die Medvjedi durch - das sind jetzt schon fast 100% mehr als 60 Punkte und so viel wie ich gehoert habe - kommt bis zum Ende des Jahres noch ein Spieler aus Kanada...

    Some players will get stripped off the roster (Sandrock) and rumors have it that some others might as well (Brum).. also, some players of Croatian origin might get our passport... also you never know.. that one more new player might also be North American Croat : )

    okay - the funny "punktesystem" (point-system?!), i think everbody now see's that this system is not very usefull for devolping hockey in austria (slovenia...). but in the past we didn't have that "problems" - nearley every team handled it (signing foreign players) the same way, one signed more (vienna), one less (f.e. vsv). but with zagreb this system didn't work. it doesnt make any sense, when you had 20 player in your team, who are not born in croatia. and please dont tell me, that this helps to develop or establish hockey in your country...
    i hope that this system is history after this season. the one and only future is the limitation of foreign players - i heared that there are plans that you could only sign 8 foreign players in the next two seasons, and then it'll be dropped to seven or five... i'm realley excited how medvescak will handle this - maybe then frank banham will find out, that the aunt of the father of his grandfather wos born in zagreb ....

    i hope you understand, what i mean, also in my limited english...

    within the regulation of the ebel it´s true but it´s not fair play in my understanding ;)
    but who cares about fair play in pro-business ?(

    Of course that it helps to develop hockey... if that wasn't the case why did we even get into EBEL? They could've just as well stayed to play in Slohokej. With the foreign players like that team got all the public and media exposure that it has today. It wouldn't get little kids interested so much in actually trying hockey instead of traditional football, basketball, handball...

    Without players like that kids like Šijan, Kanaet, Blagus would've never get a chance so early in their careers to play on this level.

    As for 8 foreigners.. we wouldn't have trouble with that even now... quite enough of them are of Croatian origin.

    How its not fair play? What are we doing wrong? We are trying to rise the level of Croatian hockey by signing quality players of Croatian origin from all over the world due to the lack of such in our domestic league. Put yourself in in our perspective.. what do you need to develop your entire hockey system and national team? Money. How do you get the money? By increasing popularity of the game, media, tv rights, tickets etc... only way to achieve that is by have good team which will be competative in a strong league like EBEL.

    four questions: could you please define whats "croatian origin"? for example: one granddad is enough? what happens if one part of the ancient family is from serbia? who is responsible for the proof?

    from your (croatian) point of view - okay, that makes sense. and with this funny systems it's okay and it's legal.
    from my point of view there is no doubt that the not-austrian-teams benefits from this league much more than the other way around - and that's the biggest problem for our (austrian) hockey.

    Hoffentlich. Und das Ergebnis sollte sein, dass diese dämliche Punkteregel endlich abgeschafft wird und zwar vorzugsweise ersatzlos. Dieses System tut nichts für die Ausgeglichenheit der Liga weil der Punktewert für 80% aller Spieler ohnehin von Alter und/oder Reisepass bestimmt ist und für die restl. 20% nach dem Wasserstand irgendwelcher Flüsse vergeben wird so dass sich im Endeffekt zwei Mannschaften mit dem selben Punktewert am Eis wie eine NHL und eine Hobbytruppe unterscheiden können.
    Und aus 90% der jungen Spieler in der EBEL die nur deswegen da sind, weil sie eben 0 Punkte zählen wird ohnehin nie ein Nationalteamernstfallskandidat, so dass man deren Abgang in die NL nur 2-3 Jahre vorziehen würde, der Rest setzt sich auch so durch. Und wenn da die große Panik ausbricht, dass nie wieder ein Ösi gut genug sein wird sollens halt 5 einheimische U22er am Spielbericht vorschreiben. Eiszeit kriegen die wenn sie nix taugen mit oder ohne Punkteregel keine.
