Krog played in 80 games for the Ducks in 2003-04 and recorded six goals and 12 assists. Last year, during the NHL lockout, he became a big scorer while playing for Heraklith VSV in Villach, Austria, totaling 27 goals and 33 assists in 60 games.
"I had a really positive experience," he said. "The people were great, and we had a good team."
Playing tourist was fun, too.
"Villach is in the southern part of the country, 20 minutes from Italy and Slovenia," Krog said. "We got a day off every week, and I got to travel into northern Italy quite a bit, to places like Milan and Venice."
As much as he enjoys Europe, Krog would prefer to stay closer to home as a member of the Avalanche
