@ ofiskaa: wobei ich fairerweise sagen muss, ganz unrecht hast du eh nicht...... aber irgendwas positves muss doch auch mal zu finden sein? [prost][/quote] (Hmm..why did this happen now? :S)

Capitals lost an important match 2-1 in OT. Linz hardly created a big chance the first 40 minutes, and if Gratton or Selmser had scored on their big chances in the 2nd period we would have been ordering tickets for the final today, not for another Linz match. 40 mins close to perfection, 12 minutes of fear. Ive just seen the 3rd period on Sky now, and when Capitals had the PP they didnt even take control of the Linz-zone. Capitals became to passive and lost the match. Lesson learned i hope and move on. Build from the first 40 minutes and dont make the same mistakes again. Many of the defenders had a good match if you want me to mention some names: Bjornlie, Bouchard, Sarault.

Oh wow...... is there any player you like?

Gratton: if i find him in bed with my wife i will ask him if i can get him a glass of water or if he wants to finish off. Great player, love his game, but not yesterday. That was not a captain worthy in such an important match.

Cassivi: i have always defended him...but im not sure anymore.

Lebeau however i find very overrated, that is true.

Back from a disappointing trip to Linz. It is limited to what you get to see of the match from such a shitty place, but still:

    - 1st and 2nd period. Caps didnt create a lot, but Linz created even less dangerous situations. I felt Capitals was in control of the match. Lots of iceings and not good hockey.

    - Whatever happens between the 2nd and 3rd period is like asking for trouble. Aparently Gaudet was not even in the dressing rooms, he went out into the team-bus?? Many of the Capitals-fans in the supporter bus had seen him there. If this is true...well..then i dont have words. What happened in the players heads was very simple: "the fear of losing became bigger than the lust to win". This is very dangerous and makes the team passive and defensive. And this is not the way Capitals can play. Salzburg can do this i guess, not Caps.

    Some words about some players:
    - Selmser: playoff choker...again.
    - Gratton: I understand he is provoked 60 minutes, but yesterday he was not a good captain.
    - Lebeau: happy 40th birthday! You were rubbish yesterday...again. Choker. (sorry, but it is true)
    - Cassivi: i dont know...
    - Kranjc: the worst ive ever seen him. Really bad match.

Anyway...it has never happened for 20 years in austria that a team has lost from 3-0 lead. I dont think it will happen, but momentum is with Linz now and Westlund had a good day at work. It will be hard on thursday.

Ready for semifinals in the Norwegian Championship 2010:

Valerenga - Storhamar. Valerenga beat as predicted Manglerud Star in the quarters, while the former champions from Hamar was rather surprising winners in their quarters against Lørenskog. Storhamar is not using a lot of money in the last few year (payback for old fun), but their winning culture is incredible and eventhough they finished 8th in the league they are in the semis...again. but against Vålerenga it will be very tough. 80-20.

Sparta Sarpsborg - Stavanger Oilers. Nr 2 and 3 in the league. Both teams are famous for being summer champions and playoff chokers. Sparta beat their local rivals, Stjernen, while Stavanger took care of Lillehammer in the quarters. Stavanger has the best coach (Petter Thoresen, previous winner with Storhamar and Vålerenga) and possibly the better goalie...the rest is advantage. Stavanger looked better in the quarters and was very impressive in the last matches against Lillehammer. 55-45.

also ich steh genau darüber und der pass kam meiner meinung nach auch von D Rodman

Im 97,35% certain it was NOT Rodman. I was very surprised when he was named with an assist, cause the puck did come from the Linz defender... Rodman had done a good job, but had lost control over the puck, and the defender made a horrible pass in his own zone.

Thats how i saw it from reihe 1, rang 2 at least :)

Thanks for the replies. Nice that vsv-fans still bother to go online ;) First time i was involved in this ufta-mystery was actually in Villach. 26th of december 08 i was among the VSV fans in the 4-3 win over the red enemy.

In general (now we are really OT) i think i can say that austrian fans (both soccer and hockey) are more inspired of the italian supporter culture than we are in norway. We are more english in our beahaviour as fans, not so involved with our bodies, mainly voice. Not so many banners. I do miss a bit of sarcasm though. "You only sing when you are winning" or "you only got one song" are quite funny :) Or when "wheres your mama gone" is played and Ljubljana is the opposition, then 4000 should be screaming "wheres your money gone"!

Entertaining, but horrible match. 2 very bad goal keepers. And when Capitals were bad, they were really bad. Linz started both 1st and 2nd period with close to perfect style (like Caps in the first 2 matches). High pressure, good movement, tight defence, forechekcking...and then just to forget everything the last 10 mins of each period. Last season capitals would have lost in the 3rd period. But the team is much more even now and more players are on the ice for longer periods.

Why Linz fell apart 2 times is hard to say. Capitals are a good team and to come back twice like this is extremely good for morale. Both goalies looked very shaky and made several mistakes. Capitals have the momentum and Westlunds errors costed Linz them the vistory. Cassivi 2 efforts to pick the puck from the air both bounced away from goal. Luck and skills go hand in hand.

I have one question (semi OT i guess). What is this Ufta? Does it mean anything? Or is it just like sining "shalalala"? Where does it come from?

Gratton is Captain Cap. He is allowed to talk to the referee whenever he feels like it. Deal with it.

    Today:
Again perfect discipline from start to finish.

If i am to make a comment on the 3 big issues among Capitals fans:
    - Gaudet: very good job so far.
    - Cassivi: oh all you with so little faith!
    - Lebeau: invisible.

Nageler has really disappointed me in the playoffs. He seems to have lost all his confidence and has been moved from 2nd, to 3rd to 4th line the last months.

Kraxner has been much better. He is clearly forward nr 10 at the moment.

I dont think it is fair to mention Riener with the draskotwins. Riener is a proper player that in my eyes should have been given a chance in the playoffs, specially when Bouchard was out ill last match. #17 and 77 are both far far away from even being considered.

okay then i am an ugly faultfinder :P
with your expectations the correct numbers would be:

    BWL: 29/55~ 53%
    RBS: 20/55~36%
    ZAG: 06/55~11%

btw i think you underestimated Zagreb, because they had two chances, although for sure you are correct, that there is a different weighting between ZAG & RBS

hehe, yes, i think those numbers you have there are pretty spot on...but with 1-0 to 99ers and 2-1...then we have a different calculation to make ;)

    2-0 Zagreb! Even better...

hmm how did you get the numbers? ;)

without the famous "momentum" :D there would be a probabilistic estimation: Salzburg-KAC 2:1, Zagreb-G99 2:1

so there would be Linz 5/9~your 56%
but both Salzburg and Zagreb 2/9

the minutes b4 the match are really good for brainmasturbations :D

It is my job to make percentages out of sport :)

RBS is around 80% to make the semis, while Zagreb is "only" 55%. I might be slightly wrong, but they are not 2-1 both of them. Graz is even favorites in Croatia today...despite of the momentum as you correctly mention.

Ich muss Niel92 hier schon recht geben.

Wo ist der UNterschied zwischen "Ihr könnt nach Hause fahren" und "Back where you belong".

Warum muss man in Österreich immer in allem etwas Rassistisches hervorkramen??

As a foreigner i can assure you there is a big difference. The singing of "Ihr könnt nach Hause fahren" is normally done when the match is over and it is to make fun of the team and fans that have lost. I have no problems with that.

But "Back to where you belong" is something completely different. That means you dont belong here. You shouldnt be here.

And that for me is under the level of what you should expect from a fangroup.

I will not call it racism, thats a word that is used too often. But unnessesary and not nice towards fans that applauded the Capitals-fans in Ungarn on Sunday.
