Zum Thema DEL-Müll... eines was die Capitals-Coaches in der Vergangenheit ausgezeichnet hat war ihr Scouting und die Connections hab ich das Gefühl.
Wren, Craig, Fortier, Gratton, Bjornlie, Bouchard, Charpentier, Labe... wir hatten eigentlich immer Top-Legionäre (fast immer *g*). Die Beziehungen zur DEL sind wohl sehr wichtig und zeichnen den klassischen Caps-Coach aus. Mit Jungen konnte weder Gaudet noch Boni...
Alles sehr gute (oder nur gute) verpflichtungen und ich habe nicht gemeint dass die Caps einen schlechten job gemacht haben oder dass die spieler müll sind. Ausländerverpflichtungen sind Gaudets grösstes plus.
Aber ich meine dass es so viele spieler/trainer in EBEL gibt, die einen DEL-Vergangenheit haben. Man kann auch andere plätze für neue inspirationen suchen.
Ich verstehe nicht Vienna Capitals hier. In April 2010 hatte man ein chance Gaudet los zu werden und einen neuen trainer zu verpflichten. Aber dann hatte Gaudet einen vertrag und Schmid hätte nie einen vertrag gebrochen (außer mit Tepppert nur ein paar monate früher natürlich).
Ok, man hat es nicht gemacht aber man hat ein par forderungen gemacht. Hummel und 4 linien u.s.w.
Natürlich. Alle "fans" (nicht fans, "fans") und bashers konnten verstehen daß nicht viel geändert wurde. Gaudet ist Gaudet.
So nach 28 spiele in 2011 saison gibt es wirklich keinen grund Gaudet wegen den resultaten zu kritisieren. Capitals sind nr 3. 10 punkte hinter KAC ist zu viel. 2 punkte hinter RBS ist nicht so viel. Ganz akeptable position.
Und dann veröffentlicht man pläne für die nächste saison?? Unglaublich. Interne pläne für 2012, super. Externe pläne für 2012, überhaupt nicht gut. Wie sollen die spielern an einen trainer glauben, wenn der Schmid und der klub kein vertrauen in ihn hat?

Ich verstehe auch nicht warum man immer DEL-müll versuchen muss in EBEL, bei trainern und spielern. Warum nicht etwas neues versuchen? Ich sage nicht dass Stewart ein schlechtes trainer ist, aber es gibt doch viele andere möglichkeiten. Das gilt nicht nur für die Capitals, sondern die ganze Liga. Probiert etwas neues!

Für Abstiegsgruppe ja, in meine augen jedenfall Schweden leider 0% 
5-2 gegen Norwegen zu verlieren ist nicht gut, aber es gibt auch Positives. Den St. Ulmer würde ich auf jeden Fall zum WM mitnehmen, mir hat hinten auch der Kirisits gut gefallen. Die Gegentore resultieren fast immer daraus, dass wir hinten zu lässig agieren und zu unkonsequent sind. Eine typische Krankheit in der EBEL. Mit dem Körperspiel der Norwegeer sind wir auch nicht zurecht gekommen.
Ich glaube doch, dass die Norweger besser aufgestellt waren als wir. Thoresen z.B. war dabei, Zuccarello-Aasen und Ask werden wohl bei der WM auch spielen. Trotzdem würde ich sagen, sind die Norweger nicht stärker als wir.
Morten Ask hat keinen klub...er wartete wie lang wie möglich. Ich glaube er spielt vor Vålerenga in Jänner. Dann vielleicht kommt er in WM-form.
Auch Mats Trygg var nicht dabei. Es fehlt ein par sehr gute spiler für Norwegen.
Ich bin Norweger aber ganz ehrlich....es ist 75% Österreich, 20% Norwegen und 5% USA in relegation group.
Weiß von euch jemand in wie weit der Norwegische Kader dem gleicht, der dann auch bei der WM spielen wird?? Also spielen die Norweger doch hauptsächlich mit den besten, oder probieren sie auch soviel aus wie die Österreicher??

There are clear similarities of the cases:- both players are something of a ticking bomb temper-wise
- both have been excellent players and scorers and not primarily bullies on the ice
- both have had bad ref's decisions preceding the incident
- both had been hit by the opponent just before going crazy
- both did something that is simply unacceptable in hockey - one attacking and hitting the opponent with his stick, the other attacking the referee)but still the Senate managed to hand out two bans that can't be compared.
Kicked out Hebar for the rest of the season? Fine, but then keep this (even if it's ridiculous) standard to all cases, right?
There are clearly silimarities between Hebar and Rotter, but you seem to forget the massive difference. Rotter never did anything dangerous. He pushed a referee, Hebar could have given Puschnik big injuries. What Rotter did is inexcuseable, but at the end of the day it is not the same as attacking violently another player. I find 16 matches suspension fine for Rotter, it must never be in the same category as Hebar.
But how Lukas got away with 12 matches....that i will never understand.

I have never said that everything is all right what Gaudet is doing or how he sometimes acts but I like this kind of Hockey that he is teaching.I only hate this non-essential bashing from a group of “Fans” against him. Not everything is wrong what he is saying or doing.
How ever, I think he has as well the chance to come into the final round as also to win the Play offs. If he takes this chance we will see in March/April. Between September and April I want to see attractive hockey and not defensive hockey.
Bashing bashing...you like this word in Austria I dont like Gaudet cause he is too passive, too offensive and not a winner. Is that bashing? I think Capitals would be a much bigger threat to the championship with a different coach and another mentality on the ice.
We have already seen what will happen in the playoffs. 3-0 to 3-4...with leads in all the last 4 matches...it is a historic defeat. Of course it didnt help with a goalkeeper that couldnt stop anything, but there are no real signs that things will become better this year.
I am more confused by the fans who want to see good matches and have heroes on the ice more than winning the championship? I dont think the greeks in portugal 2004 bothered too much about that....defend and win
I have to pick up this lines. A strong team dont depend on a lack of stars, you can also have a great team with them. If we take a look at the Caps for example: There is a good reason why Gratton is wearing the C and i think Fortier is someone with an similiar attitude. Yes they can take a whole game on there shoulders, but those are 2 guys who are in my opinion also teamplayers.
Lets compare them with the Hot Rods, why is it so hard to find someone playing with them (and getting also the passes from them) while no matter who you put together with Fortier or Gratton or both works just great.I am for sure no big friend of Gaudet and there is much space for critics. But there is one thing you cant take him away, he is able to pull his guys together to a strong team. The reason why he fears Salzburg and KAC is simply: depth. And thats the main reason why i think something have to change. We are not RBS with the financial possibility to sit potential Top6 Forwards, you have to take a few guys from the minors and let them train with the team, give them a chance from game to game (what also puts some pressure on the other guys fighting for this spots in the lineup) and build them up so they are ready to jump in and play if someone gets hurt or is fighting with a bad campaign.
What Gaudet did last year in November (?) with 13-14 players and 4 points on a travel to Kärnten was great. I give him lots of credit for that, and there are also other examples of Capitals really picking points when there have been big injury trouble in the team.
As a grunddurchgang coach i really like Gaudet. He has pretty much everything there. But thats not what hockey is about. Some ski jumpers and slalom drivers love the extra pressure of being the last to go in 2nd round...others fail again and again. This ability to be best when it really matters, has not been in Capitals under Gaudet...yet, maybe it will change
Ich würde einigen Gaudet Hassern hier im Forum raten einmal folgendes Szenario zu überdenken:
Angenommen Gaudet wäre heuer schon nicht mehr der Mann hinter der Bande und die Caps hätten einen Trainer, der die defensive Kontertaktik (wie so einige Trainer anderer EBEL Clubs) bevorzugen würde.
- wahrscheinlich hätten wir keine Spieler wie Gratton oder Fortier
- die Zuschauerzahlen (weil hier schon angesprochen) wären mMn sicher im Keller
- die Caps wären nicht unter den Top 4
- Eishockey in Wien?? – lasst eurer Fantasie ruhig freien Lauf
Gaudet trainiert schnelles kanadisches Offensivhockey. Mir gefällt´s und mir graut jetzt schon davor was nächstes Jahr vielleicht auf dem Trainerposten der Caps so alles passieren könnte (siehe erwähntes Szenario).
Aber Hauptsache es wären dann wieder so einige Forumsuser in einer halb leeren Halle anzutreffen und könnten ihre Berichte zum guten österreichischen Eishockey zum Besten geben. :wacko:

I heard exactly the same things in my hometown in Norway, Stavanger, with the icehockey team there Stavanger Oilers.
How can we get rid of our coach? We play so nice, we play so attactive, there are so many people watching the matches, we have players like Jari Kesti and Tomi Suoniemi no one else can get players like that.
Sport is not about entertaining, it is about winning. Anyone can entertain. Thats the easiest part. Winning is the tough part.
Gaudet is playing a very nice icehockey and for grunddurchgang it is fine, no problem. I have to admit i dont go to all the matches this season, i have to protect myself to get too involved and not be too disappointed in march 2011. Cause you can not win the playoff with icehockey like that...unless you have an incredible attack...which Capitals dont have. 1st line is excellent, rest of the squad is ok.
Well, back to Stavanger. After a few years with blind search the board decided to get a winner, not entertainer, as coach. Petter Thorsen. A very boring, systematic coach. Aparently the zuscahuerzahlen would be in the Keller. That didnt really happen. Aparently he could never get stars like Kesti and Suoniemi (or Gratton and Fortier). Maybe he could, but he didnt. He built a team in stead. A strong powerful team without the biggest stars. Some stars are good enough to win the playoff, but mainly it is the team that wins it.
9 months after he took over he brought the first championship in the history to a team outside the east of norway. I can promise you those 2600 (full house of course) did not cry over lack of goals or some boring matches in november that day.
I was back home this weekend and saw them fight to get another 6 points. They are not as entertaining as before, but they win. It will be very tough to win another championship, but it is possible, cause there is a winner behind them. The players know how to win now. And they believe they can win.
Gaudet get great players to Vienna, he plays great hockey, but he doesnt win. Please dont make this sound like he is irreplaceable, he most certainly is not.
Wer soll denn statt Gaudet kommen (ich weiss schon - jeder, nur nicht er) ?

Der Punkt ist nicht, ob 10,15, 20 Spiele oder Saisonende für so einen Ausraster probat sein soll, sondern wie eine eventuell oder anscheinend tatsächlich höhere Strafe als der Bobby Lukas bekommen hat zu rechtfertigen ist, wenn "gleiches Recht für alle" gelten soll. Der eine macht den Crosschek zum Kopf lange nach Spielunterbrechung und mit vollem Überraschungesseffekt, der andere im Spiel nach einer harten Attacke schlägt dafür aber noch irgendwo zwischen angedeutet und halbdurchgezogen nach. Für mich wiegt sich das circa auf und ein dramatisch anderes Strafmaß für Hebar als für Lukas wäre schlicht und einfach inkonsistent.
