  • 3. Runde: Jesenice - Graz 99ers

    That will be one interesting game. Jesenice fans are "flying" after big win against KAC, will Graz put us down on earth again? I expect hard game, what so ever, and the game will certanly not be decided so soon. Jesenice's result against KAC is not reliable, I hope the team will be more careful than fans :) First match of Elich and Paré is very expected, also other guys are motivated a lot. With almost one week of a break, they should be well rested and back on the track again :)

  • 2. Runde: HK Jesenice vs. EC KAC

    Ein tolles Spiel!

    I'll speak in english, otherwise it will take me ages :) First of all, thank you KAC fans for the gesture at the beginning, you are really great. You are welcomed in Jesenice anytime, of course!

    About the game, it was similar to fridays game, basicly. Great game from both sides, with less luck to the guests :) First two periods were equal, than in the third Jesenice took all control and decided the winner. Fox scored twice again, second goal came from the corner BEHIND the goal. He saw Verner standing out of goal, shot the puck into him and it ended in the net. Otherwise, no mistakes from goalie, so I'd say KAC defence wasn't working as it should. But still it seemed to me, that Jesenice were just better, but I might be biased a little bit.

    Anyway, great game, at least for us, who are not used to such hockey :) I really believe, as long as we can keep such a form, we can beat anybody in this league. Of course there will be a slump, because our players have to work really hard to keep up with the opponents, but so far they are great.

    Two imports (Pare and Elich) didn't play, because there are some problems with papers at IIHF, but they will play in next round.

    It will be easier if I give you an english report... :) Basicly, Linz was better, although Jesenice was good in attack, especially in first 2 periods. The biggest problem in Jesenice team was defence, which was awful and, again, special plays. Linz scored shorthanded early in third period, which caused some panic in home team and Linz scored third goal. Jesenice had some chances and newcomer Aaron Fox missed what was harder to miss, than to score. Andrej Hocevar was awsome in goal and it will be big contender to Gaber Glavic for #1 goalie in EBEL league.

    Linz is good, but not unbeatable. But Jesenice will have to do better, especially in the back.

    interview with Kopitar. I'll write it in english, because it would take me too much time, trying to do it in german :)

    He said that most of the players came in the first training in good condition, which means they had been working good for themself during the summer. Some players brought injuries from previous season and they had to go through operations (Polon
    i
    , Rebolj), but he is very happy with approach of the guys, with motivation and team spirit. They had to realize (and they did, according to Kopitar) that the tempo in Austria will be much more intense. Luckly, there wasn't many injuries during preseason, which means that the team as a whole has been preparing "on full".

    He said that he has a lot of tactics already in his minds, that he and his assistant Marjan Kozar worked on some things and that they already have some tapes of austrian teams. If there will be no injuries, we have 4 full lines and two players (with two goalies, that is 24 players). They will try to adapt in the first few rounds, to the austrian hockey, which is much harder and physical. He said that our team would be facing different hockey in this season, but we have to accept the fact and we can't moan and cry about strong austrians :)

    Than he said that he expect much more attention to Jesenice, since we are new to the league (that means, teams will try to do their best against us, we won't have much support from refferees and all that). Than he said, that he doesn't like pesimistic and unambitious people, so he is glad that the goal of the team is making the playoffs. Our team is good and with right work we can achieve it.

    After foreigners.... he said that he wanted some, but together with the board they have decided, that we will start the season with slovene team only, than if we would realize, that we aren't competitive or if there would be much injuries, foreign players might come to Jesenice.

    Thats basicly it.... nothing special.

    haha ja kein problem :) Es ist sogar ganz billiger als in Österreich. Sie können Bier nich in die halle bringer, aber es kostet zirka 1,7 oder 1,8 €. Vor zwei Jahren war ein Bier in Villach 2,5€, wie viel kostet es jetzt?
