Transfergeflüster: Vienna Capitals 2010/11

    Einige Legionäre und der Trainer sind angezählt, ob des verpassten Finales. Daher könnte es nicht verwundern, wenn ab August erneut unbekannte Gesichter in der Albert-Schultz-Halle trainieren.

    "Ich nehme die Schuld auf mich. Ich habe noch einen Vertrag und werde sich nicht davonlaufen", würde Gaudet ein weiteres Jahr in Wien gerne noch versuchen.

    Dem Vorhaben des Präsidenten, die neue Eishalle in Wien-Kagran mit Platz für 7.000 Zuschauer im Herbst mit dem zweiten Titel der Vereinsgeschichte zu eröffnen, wurde ein Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht.

    Wie die Anhänger der Capitals vor der nächsten Saison reagieren werden - im letzten Spiel gegen Linz gab es diverse Unmutsäußerungen gegen Trainer und Torhüter Frderic Cassivi -, steht auch noch in den Sternen.

    Why? Rodmans will fail again, thats for sure. Why should not Cassivi be given a 2nd chance? Rodmans will get their 3rd now...

    As long as Capitals use the same players (more or less) next year, then it will be the same result. Thats very simple. Specially with the same coach. 7-0 against Ljubljana, 6-4 against Alba Volan...good play in Grunddurchgang...and failure in the playoffs.

    I don't mind if Rods stay - they are not superstars, but you need a solid 2.Line

    and finaly I don't really mind if Gaudet stays

    as to Cassivi - I wouldn't mind either, but I think he would mind himself

    Ich habe mir die Statistik noch mal angesehen... Im Viertelfinale haben die Rods 11 Punkte, im Halbfinale 9 Punkte gemacht --> ergibt 20 Punkte in den Playoffs!

    Für eine 2. Linie nicht so schlecht, von Versagen kann eigentlich keine Rede sein...

    Lemieux + Rotter + X (Oferl, Dole, Tropper)
    Kraxner - Selmser + (Tropper, Dole, Nageler)
    Draschko + X (Oferl, Tropper) + Draschko(/Heinrich zB?)

    Would say there you have your solid 2nd Line, 1 nice Shutdown Line and a Energy Line. RaRo dont need Gratton/Import/Lebeau on his side for his play, he is able to lead a line single handed.

    13 Spiele 20 Punkte für 2 Spieler ist für dich 2nd Line würdig? 1,5 Punkte pro Spiel, vorallem wenn man dann noch davon ausgehen kann das bei den meisten Aktionen G: Rod1 A: Rod2 angschrieben hat. Dazu noch 2 geschenkte Tore gegen Linz die in Spiel die letzten Minuten nach den Raffi Fight das Spiel nur noch runtergespielt hatten mit den 4 Tore Polster.
    Im Gegenzug hatte allein die erste Linie in 7 Spielen gegen Linz über 30 Punkte fabriziert.

    Then we look at things very different. I look at at sport team to make themselves a best possible chance to win something (in icehockey this means playoff). If i support a team that doesnt have enough money or not able to get the best players then i have other targets (beat Liverpool). But Capitals have the money and the chance to be winners, but they dont win, and that is not good enough. Rods are good players in GD, and clueless in PO. Gaudet is entertaining, but clueless in PO. If a sport team does not set demand there will develop a very dangerous culture within this club. If virtually all players are allowed to keep playing after a complete PO fiasco, then the club says: "this was acceptable".

    And guess what, the same will happen next year!

    You can have the nicest and newest arena in the world. You can have all the money in the world. It doesnt matter if you dont have winning culture. And this is completely missing in Vienna and Capitals. Go to KAC and you feel it. Salzburg have managed to create it. This ability to be best when it really matters is something that not all have. I have been blessed to watch Aamodt, Kjus and Svindal the last 20 years in the alpine slopes, they were always best when it mattered. And then there are others who never took a gold medal in the big championships. In alpine skiing there is not a lot you can do if you are the coach of a chocker. But in icehockey you can try to fix things after a bad season, you can make changes and get rid of the chokers. But what does capitals do? reward them.

    Hockey is not about solid 2nd lines or being nice. It is about winning. Look to Salzburg! Look to Vålerenga in norway. When a team (apart from Storhamar) meets them in the final they fall apart just from the idea of having to play Vålerenga in a final. There is nothing scary about Capitals.

    Agree. So könnte es gehen - ich hab' ja auch nicht gemeint, dass die Rods meine Wunschspieler sind, nur dass mich nicht stört, falls sie bleiben.

    Lemieux dagegen würde ich mir schon weiter im Caps Dress wünschen.
