Black Wings gehen gegen Stewart in die Offensive

Nicht nur im EBEL Finale gibt es eine Schlammschlacht, auch abseits des Eises liefern sich zwei alte Bekannte aus der Liga ein hartes Duell. Bill Stewart, Trainer der Hamburg Freezers und die Black Wings aus Linz streiten noch immer über den Abgang des Coaches. Nach schweren Anschuldigungen in der deutschen Presse gehen die Oberösterreicher nun ebenfalls in die Offensive.Mehr als vier Monate sind vergangen, seit Bill Stewart die Black Wings mit seinem plötzlichen Abgang aus Linz schockte. Seither gehen die Wogen regelmäßig hoch, trifft man sich vor Gericht wieder und lässt sich auch sonst einiges über die Meiden ausrichten. In der heutigen Ausgabe des „Hamburger Abendblatts“ stellt der ehemalige Trainer der Stahlstädter mehrere Behauptungen auf, die man aus Linz nicht unkommentiert lassen will. Von Spieler-, Masseurs- und Sportdirektorenverpflichtungen hinter dem Rücken Stewarts ist da die Rede, aber auch von Drohungen und Angriffen auf seine Person. Die Black Wings veröffentlichten nun auf Ihrer Homepage einen Auszug aus dem Originalschriftverkehr zwischen ihrem Präsidenten und dem ehemaligen Trainer, anhand dessen man sich ein Bild über die Glaubwürdigkeit der Aussagen Stewarts machen soll. November 2006 11:36 An: Willi Wetzl Betreff: bill stewart on sunday Hello Willi Just got off the phone with my friend who coaches in Finland in the SM league for Jokerit,and he likes Virtanen.Very clever player,and is great on the powerplay.Good player who played for an average team,good skills and my guy liked him,and he said he plays bigger than his size.He said he has better than average speed,in that league,and it is two steps quicker than this league.Thats all the information I have,and the bottom line is that he said he would do well with Shearer,he seen the level of Salzburg in our league when they had their tournament in August. COST:XXX euros for the week plus half the cost of flight from Canada to here and food and hotel. He will give two one and a half hour on ice practices for the youth hockey free of charge with the help of the two goalies from our team. Our schedule at this time, we would have two away games in Jesenice,on the 8th and 10th,he would go with us to Jesenice,and we would have four solid days of practice at home for him to work with the two goalies. Einen Sportdirektor hat es weder in der Vorsaison noch in dieser Saison gegeben. Die Masseurin wurde auf Wunsch von Bill Stewart zu Beginn der Saison eingestellt und arbeitet nach wie vor für die Black Wings Linz.
