Capitals is so completely out of form it is painful to watch them right now.

After 3-4 mins Nageler was through on goal but instead of shooting he passed the puck...the complete sign of a team with no self confidence. The match today was not as bad as earlier in jaunary, but the result the same.

    - No self confidence.
    - No luck
    - As ive said many times lately; Capitals is the worst team in the league at the moment.

The defence is far away from being the class you should expect. I think specially Casparsson and Kranjc had a horrible match today.

And on top of it all we have a coach who have no skill what so ever to change the outcome of a match.

And playoff is only a few weeks away.

The good news is Cassivi had an ok match and Lebeau seem to be a bit bck to form...maybe? Gratton also had a better match than the last ones.

If Capitals meat Salzburg in the playoff there is 0,5% chance to win the series against them. They are professonal from a to z. Different class to Capitals.

Norway had a revolution in the mens handball team from 02-03. Gunnar Pettersen took over as coach and developped the team from mid european standard to being able to beat anyone. There are some class players, specially Kristian Kjelling and Kjetil Strand (mainly offence the last one) are pure quality. Also Ege in goal and Tvedten on the wing is very good players. unfortunately our possibly best defender, Stian Vatne, got injured and left the championships yesterday.

But the main weakness about this norwegian team is the complete lack of ability to handle stress. If things go smooth, great, but once the other team is on a run they can make very silly mistakes and almost give the match away. It will be very interesting tomorrow, I dont think there is any value around in 3,00 for Austria, but maybe a handicap bet on them? Best of luck :)

The playing-order of the semifinals has been changed. From 1/8 vs. 4/5 and 2/7 vs. 3/6 to best-ranked vs. worst-ranked and second-best-ranked vs. second-worst-ranked.
So the default semi-sweep is still possible. :D

IF Caps end up as nr 4...then they can only play RBS if they win the league..and that will not happen. Right God? You promised me that!

ofiskaa: Please stop exagerating. That's nonsense... "worst team in the league" [kopf]

Capitals is the worst team at the moment. Anyone can see that, it is certainlu no exageration. There is no plan in the team what so ever.

1 point on 4 away matches after new years. Apart from a very lucky 2 pointer against Jesenice (the second worst team) it has been a horrible period. There are 2 problems with Gaudet:
    - He doesnt understand how to win playoff hockey
    - He doesnt know how to change a bad period. He tries the same...again and again and again. When it works...fine. When not...good lord.

On tuesday is a certain defeat against RBS. And another defeat on friday against Graz. Then another defeat in Salzburg. And then 4th place is secure. Good thing is that we will not have to play Salzburg in the semis then ;)

He has been more or less injured the whole season. He was ok in november and december, but rest has been between 20-50%. It is sad to see a good player end his career in this way.

Another important match and another match where Lebeau is mr. Invisible. Hopeless. Still he wasnt the worst...Sarault is so bad i have no longer words.

I think Capitals might be the worst team in EBEL right now. Very nice a few weeks before the playoffs...im sure Gaudet has a great plan. Worked wonder with the constant changes in the lines today...good lord.

    From Kurier today:
Die Wche der Wahrhei vor dem Transferschluss

First a bit about the hard opposition the next week, then:

No worries at the moment. [kaffee]

a - It is more than a rumour...they also have a story about this in Kurier today. I will write it in here soon.

No smoke without a fire you know :)

b - we will forgive it all if Capitals are the champions. Semi exit now is a disaster.

What kind of player do you hope this new foreigner will be then? Defender? Center? Or another try to get a scoring forward into the 1st line?

There will be some players available from teams that does not make the playoffs around europe...maybe someone like this:

I still cant believe Teppert is the victim, would be better to get rid of Sarault in my eyes.

    Oh dear god :)

IF this is succesful and the playoffs are won, it will be worth it. IF there is another semifinal exit i think it is a disasterous move. Which austrian player wants to sign up for a team that might kick him out mid season? But if they are the champions..it is all forgotten.

In ice hockey, a Gordie Howe hat trick is an unofficial variation on the hat trick, wherein a player scores a goal, records an assist, and gets in a fight all in one game. It is named after Gordie Howe, who is known for both his scoring ability and his fisticuffs.

    Bouchard-Gratton-Lebeau

    Rodman-Rodman-Nageler

    Rotter-Selmser-Kraxner (Sarault)

    Teppert-Ofner-Sarault (Kraxner)

    Alles anzeigen

IF Kranjc, Ofner and Werenka comes back i dont disagree, but i would still like to see a natural born goalscorer in the 1st line. Lebeau was this last season, now he has developed more into a playmaker role. No point to have Rotter in this line, he is just a right verison of Lebeau. D Rod is our best goalscorer, also Nageler has shown good scoring skills (at least early season), but he might not be good enough overall to play with them? I also understand oldswes comment of course, but sometimes you have to make a sacrifce for the best of the team...i cant imagine Sarault in the first time is the best solution.

    18 - MANFREDA Marjan (19 - REMAR Ales, 6 - ELIK Todd)
    Spieler EV Vienna Capitals: 6, 9, 13, 8, 19, 35

    11 - MAKROV Andrei (6 - ELIK Todd)
    Spieler EV Vienna Capitals: 6, 9, 13, 8, 28, 35

    14 - JEGLIC Ziga (16 - BRUS Miha, 7 - GOLUBOVSKI Jan)
    Spieler EV Vienna Capitals: 6, 9, 13, 4, 28, 35

Same forwards online at all 3 goals against yesterday, Rotter-Sarault-Lebeau. Lebeau was also involved in 2 of the goals (one PP) so he was only -2 for the night, but Sarault is now -8 in 7 matches for Capitals (Lebaeu is -1 for the season...Gratton is +15). Im not sure Sarault good enough to play in the line with Gratton. Does he show any progress at all? Or should he play with Kraxner and Selmser in the 3rd line? Maybe D. Rodman could be something to have with Gratton and Lebeau, to get a goalscorer into that line. Rotter-M Rod-Nageler in 2nd line.

He got signed during a tough time for the caps, fighting for the playoffs. In his first homegame the caps came back after a bad first period and it seemed that they could turn the game, but in the third period Zion unfortunately played the puck in our own goal which was the end of all hopes. It was very bad luck because he chased the puck which I think got off the post and then was deflected by him into the caps goal. I cannot remeber who we played but I can remember how bad I felt for him since everybody in the crowd hated him after that. I liked his technical skills but with this start, there was nothing left to win for him.

Hehe, thats unlucky...he played in Stavanger Oilers last year and he is most famous for being the biggest supporter of the local pubs and bars...and at one match he had 8 (eight) different girls in the arena on free tickets that he was sleeping with :D He had a problem with his lifestyle, but on the ice he was pretty good. But i guess it is easier to be hidden in a big city like Stavanger compared to Vienna. He was sacked in swedish 2nd level earlier this season and has now signed for Sheffield in England.
