I look after Marc Brown's web site, https://www.eishockeyforum.at/www.marcbrown.ca and I would like your help. I'm seeking photos and/or videos of Marc in his Graz uniform. I was fortunate to have a few people help me with this when Marc was in VSV so I'm hoping to find Graz fans who can help me too. Please email me through Marc's web site or rorysbrown@hotmail.com if you are able to help.

    Thanks for reading this.

As the administrator to Marc Brown's web site, https://www.eishockeyforum.at/www.marcbrown.ca , I was fortunate to have a few important fans who helped with material for his web site from Villach. Now that Marc has signed here with Graz; I'm hoping to find fans who can contribute photos and perhaps videos for Marc's web site. If you have something to contribute, please click the email option on his web site. Please check out his web site and feel free to comment.

I'm sorry to tell Marc's loyal VSV fans that Marc has signed with Graz today. So in my opinion, Mion and Huras got their wish for Marc not to play for VSV.

    Thanks for your support.

As members of this forum know, I am Marc Brown's uncle and I look after his web site. I would like to thank those who support Marc in his hockey career. I have not recently talked to Marc personally but I believe I know somewhat how he thinks and feels so I would like to clarify the situation to my knowledge. Marc's girl friend who is now his fiance is from Villach and she is continuing her educational studies in Villach and so Marc obviously wants to be based in Villach. I believe Marc is looking into the opportunity to purchase a place to live for both of them because he loves the area and the people of Villach so he would like it to be his European home. I know Marc and I are honoured by you, the VSV fans, who continue to support him in this forum and in other ways. I personally, like some of you, question why Marc is not playing for VSV? It doesn't seem to make any sense with Mion says it isn't the money but the points issue. The points issue is not true to my understanding because the points don't relate to signed players but players on the ice playing at the time. Since there has consistently been many injuries this season, Marc could easily be playing most of the time. Other teams in the EBL have offered Marc short term contracts to play but that is a problem with league rules if you want a long term deal for the rest of the season. If Marc was to take a short term deal with a team in the EBL, than once the contract is up, he would not be allowed to sign with any other team in the EBL that season. In Canada, that would be illegal to do because it takes away your right to work, but I guess it isn't in Austria? Since Mion says it isn't about money than why would he not want to sign Marc who for the last 3 seasons has been the top playoff performer for the team? Doesn't Mion want to win the championship? Wouldn't Mion want to sign him so a top playoff performer isn't playing against him on another team because since money isn't an issue, he could play Marc when he wants and keep him away from other teams. Another thing, Marc has been coached through the Canadian system by great coaches such as:

    - Mike Babcock (Current NHL Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup winning coach and Team Canada World Junior Championship winning coach)
    - Kevin McClelland (3 times Stanley Cup winning player with the Edmonton Oilers and WHL Division winning coach with the WHL Prince Albert Raiders)
    - Greg Gilbert (3 times Stanley Cup winning player, former NHL Calgary Flames head coach, AHL Coach of the Year & Division Championship winning coach)

Why would any team not want to have a player who has been coached by these coaches in his dressing room? It doesn't make any sense to me?
I want to make it clear, these are all my comments and not Marc's! Thank you again for your support of my nephew Marc Brown.

Marc is back in Villach training with the under 20's and at the Athletx gym. Marc's fans are welcome to drop by and say hello anytime. If there is anything new for Marc I will report it on the https://www.eishockeyforum.at/www.marcbrown.ca web site under the new section called "The Story so Far"

Marc had 1 assist and was involved in other goals in the first game with Langenthal. Marc's efforts were noted by the coach as very important in helping the team get it's first proper win of the season as the other win came against an under 20's team. In Marc's second game with Langenthal he scored what would have been the game winning goal but it was called back because a teammate was in the goal crease and the ref didn't seem to care that the player was pushed in. They lost in over time when a Langenthal player made a silly mistake and gave up the puck to the other team on a break away and he scored in the first minute of overtime. The Langenthal coach really wanted Marc but the management's offer wasn't acceptable for the situation there.

For Marc's VSV fans: It is 100% not true of the report that Marc didn't convince in his tryout with Langenthal. The coach of the team stated Marc is the guy he wants to lead the team after seeing his performance in the two games he played there. I believe Langenthal is fortunate to have a very good coach in Kevin Ryan, who is probably the best coach Marc has seen since Greg Gilbert (who coached the AHL Worcester Icecats to first place in their Division) and Kevin McClelland (of the Prince Albert Raiders when they won their division in the WHL). Marc was offered a contract by Langenthal but rejected the offer and unless something has changed as of this post, Marc should be back in Villach Saturday night. It is unfortunate for Langenthal's coach, Kevin Ryan, if he isn't given the tools he requires to do his job properly. Marc has had several offers to play this year in Europe but he wants the right situation. Two Erste Bank Hockey League teams did offer Marc opportunities but both are situations which he wasn't interested in. Marc loves the VSV fans and appreciates your support. It is unfortunate VSV has not offered a proper contract to Marc this year. Best wishes to all of you.
