Season opener as you would expect from such class opponents!
CSKA had a penalty shot for 3:1 lead in 3/3 but Slepišev hit the post.
Soon after, Azevedo scored effective equalizer and the game went to overtime.
Again CSKA had rock solid chance, but Šalunov was denied by Reideborn.
Few seconds later, Okulov made a big mistake and all Voronkov had to do was say thanks and good night!

In his time he trained Spartak, Atlant, SKA, Avangard and Slovan.
I remember him from our KHL days, as a man full of temperament and energy on the bench.

Nur hoffen, dass die Verletzungen (Donskoi und Namestnikov) nicht allzu schlimm sind. Jost aber dann eh umgehend als ausgezeichneter Ersatz, sogar gleich mit dem besten Corsi Rating der ganzen Mannschaft (75%).
With this distribution through all lines and positive momentum, even this makes me a bit less worried than usual.

After only 2 shots at goal by Isles in first 20 minutes and beeing down by 2 goals at the half of the game, I taught for a brief moment that Caps have this in the bag.
Boy, was I wrong!
1st & 2nd line got up to higher gear and decided the game, leaving Caps at one game down 👏🏻👏🏻

Not a big comfort for him and Jackets in game1, but still.. Something for the books.

Borna Rendulic verlässt die DEL nach einer Saison leider schon wieder und wechselt wohl nach Schweden.
I really liked this combination, Borna & Mannheim, DEL was always right “up my alley”.
So now must switch to SHL links which I don’t usually follow at all.

We can comfortably continue to 20/21 season, which was expected.
Many things happening but really important is the new salary cap rule of max. 900 mil. rubles.
This will hit the richest squads who exceeded this number by a long shot.
Bad news is that many players anounced they’ll try for NHL which is direct consequence of new this reduced salary cap and will weaken the league quality in long term.
