the squad will likely fall apart
You mean they won't play in the Alps anymore or ?
-
Ex-Sisak Bruno Idžan commited to Wisconsin Badgers for 2026/2027. He will join Vasili Zelenov there. So, two ex-Alps players at very strong NCAA program.

After pre-playoffs teams are picking their opponents like in ICE or it's seeded bracket ?
-
With today's win against Unterland Sisak secured pre-playoff spot
Congrats !

Sisak is not in top 5 :), but I do agree.
-
Also Unterland never played in Sisak
Yes, but Sisak postponed it (forgot why) and as a counter favor they agreed to play back-to-back in Unterland.

ich dachte die Teams aus den jeweiligen Ländern entscheiden über die Aufnahme neuer Teams.
Haben die Italiener nicht für die Aufnahme von Sisak gestimmt, während die Österreicher dagegen waren?
From first hand I know only Bregenzerwald was against Sisak due to travel distance. In the second round of negotiations they found solution that Sisak will play all three games in Bregenz (one as "host" - last change for "home" team) and in the case of meeting in the playoffs Sisak home games would be played in Slovenia.

What is tie-break in case two teams finish with same number of points ? Is it their games or GD ?
-
So, will there be Alps next year or no ?
-
wow also Idzan zerbombt mit seine 18 Jahren die ALPS ja wirklich komplett, 12 Spiele 17 Tore und 7 Assists
bin gespannt wo und wie die Reise für ihn nach der Saison weiter geht
According to the one of his interviews he has few offers from ICE and few from NCAA....

Probably I am not the only one asking why did he not stay in Sweden. For the Sisak he is a gift from above, but he is the greatest talent of the Croatian hockey in history (except Borna maybe), so I do not know if it is the smartest move to play in the Alps. Impressive stats, 18 years, 9 games, 15 goals, 20 points.
He had rough last season, where coach simply ignored him. Which is odd, since season before (22/23) he already was putting up points at J20 as 16/17yrs old. Alps league is not EBEL of course, but it is still serious (semi)pro league especially from perspective of 18-yrs old. With stats like that I am sure he will sign somewhere else, if not after this season, then after 25/26 when he is no longer U20 player.

In derby game Sisak - Kitzbuhel 5:1, Bruno Idžan (18) 3+1

When is timetable for Katic's return ?
-
Und man darauf bestanden hat, dass Sisak alle 3 Spiele in Vorarlberg bestreiten muß!!!!
And in case of playoff meeting Sisak will play it's "home" games in Ljubljana (or Zalog)...

I also wonder how long Sisak can keep this up. For them, every away trip is such a long journey. It's almost impossible to work at the same time. Even if the additional costs such as rent or bus fares are probably less, it will still cost a lot of money.
As mentioned in my previous post, Sisak managment knew very well what they are getting in when joining Alps league in terms of travel costs and distances. So they planned their budget that way. With informations I have most players of Sisak don't work, hockey is their primary job, maybe some of them have small business which doesn't require to be in office 8-16 and some of them are studying online.
They left for Cortina today (game is tomorrow) and are returning early on Sunday morning (game against Unterland is on saturday).
Regarding attendance, don't think it will drop for few reasons. People in Sisak loves hockey, games are not so often (next home fixture is on 26th october), and besides Sisak there is no other quality sport in town. For example soccer club Segesta is currently in Croatian 3rd division, it is same club that used to play in 1st league and even beat Dinamo and Hajduk from time to time.Even if, God forbid, Alps league cease to exist, Sisak will probably switch to Erste liga, because managment is very commited to have professional league in town.

KHL Sisak will probably throw in the towel in a few years because of the travel costs. But big respect to them for putting up with the league!
You never know about money in this turbulent times, but from everything I've heard, they are in good shape money wise, and they knew from first day that trips will eat good portion of club budget. Only fear is if AUT/ITA teams will get tired of traveling to Sisak....
-
I stand corrected, meant most of players played IHL last year!
Good to have an expert in croatian hockey to provide us with more details. You can be proud of Sisak, Bruno Idžan is most certainly in top 3 players under 20 years as 18 years old
It's still early, but they do look very promising. While players are executors on the ice, I think this is all due to coach. From what I've heard he is very systematic, looks at every detail and has iron fist. Reportedly, they were skating some "punishment circles" after one video analysis where he counted around 70 missed pass chances to teammate(s)...
Now ex-GM Luka Jarčov said in one podcast before start of AHL that he thinks how they will have hard time to keep Siembida for next season...well, if day is known by the morning.... -
Sisak is playing really well, I'm surprised. The squad hasn't changed that much, but they look like a completely different team.
What I am particularly interested in is how B. Idžan is developing. In January 2023, many NHL scouts came to the HV71 U20 games to see him play. It is clear that it did not go as planned... let's see if he continues to develop.
However, one fact disappointed me very much: Sisak did not get Mr. Sysak: https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/467718/ivan-sysak
Killjoys...
:irony:
A lot of new players came for this season. Idzan brothers, Marinkovic, Rosandic, Kasparek, Smolec, Mikkola, Briere, Bronte, Dostalek...that's almost half of team. But I do agree they look very promising so far.
-
Alps hockey league is in it's last contract year, right ?
-
KHL Sisak so far in pre-season
against Celje 3:8 - scorers B. Idžan, V. Idžan 2x (played without briere, dostalek, rosandic and canic)
@Ujpest 3:0 - scorers B.Idžan 2x, Briere
Villach 3:7 - B.Idžan, Briere, Bronte
@Dunajvarous 4:1 - Briere 3x, Ćanić (played without Dostalek, Bronte and Rosandic)

Are there highlights from VSV - Sisak game ?
-
Did Sisak changed goalie during game ?
-
Rumors say, that he already has signed for Vsv in the break
I hope you are joking... ?
