2021 wurde NUR die Top-Division ausgetragen, daher wurden Ab- und Aufstiege ausgesetzt. Deshalb waren Belarus und Italien (15. und 16.) auch für 2022 qualifiziert (2022 wurden dann RUS und BLR ausgeschlossen und mit Ö und FR ersetzt).
Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere teilte die IIHF damals mit, dass die Platzierungen von RUS und BLR eingefroren wurden, also theoretisch müssten sie beide bei einer Rückkehr in der Top-Division spielen.If I am not mistaken they won against Sweden in 2021. So, I would still rank them above Kazahstan/France/who ever comes from D1A even if they don't have their NHL-ers (Protas brothers, Kolacyhonok, Levshnuov).

Aber jedes Jahr? Ich mein wir reden da +/- von einem weiteren Monat das man halt nicht bei der Familie verbringen kann. Ich finde ehrlicherweise auch, dass man sich beim Eishockey mal überlegen sollte ob nicht alle 2 Jahre Olympia/WM reichen würde, dann hättest halt auch bei allen Nationen etwas bessere Kader (denke ich zumindest). Weiters hinkt der Vergleich mit dem Fußball denke ich auch, da wird wohl die Entschädigung eine etwas andere sein, von irgendwelchen Potentiellen Werbedeals im Nationalmannschaftstrikot vollkommen abgesehen.
I agree. It would be great if NHL and IIHF joins forces and we have World Championship and Olympics every other year. In "off" seasons there are European nations Cup and other continental competitions like Asian Championship...

Sisak, harder than expected, won another Croatian league title. They beat Zagreb 5:4, 3:2ot, and 6:2.

Congrats to Merano. All in all good season from Sisak, now they will have three practice matches in Croatian league finals. Too bad D2A is cancelled, it would be nice to see all players from Sisak in croatian NT jersey.

That is information I heard from people around club.

Every club isn't happy about that situation.
As far as I know every team, except one, was against the inclusion of Sisak, because of the km, but the league still approved.
That didn't really help for the popularity of the league within the clubs.
That's opposite of what I've heard. All clubs were for Sisak except Bregenzwald, for obvious reasons.
Imagine what would happen if we have a playoff series next season?
Sisak home games would be in Ljubljana or Jesenice. That was part of the deal between Sisak and Bregenz.
