Only change off the top of my head is that they added Tim Harnisch.

Question for Caps fans: How do ya'll like your new acquisition? @pschneids91
-
In any farmteam made of system players there will only be a handful of future pros. So the team that is playing in the Alps has maybe 3 future EBEL players, maybe 3 future Alps level players, and the rest maybe not even. It's a limitation built into the intrinsic nature of a local club. Even if you have a good player, if he's surrounded by overwhelmed teammates he'll be overwhelmed soon. The only real way to circumvent it is through recruiting talent from other programs, something that has really only been explored by Salzburg.

It will take a little more than Schremp to beat Vaxjo...

If I get a mathematical calculation wrong just let me know, but in this case I think it's right. 12 games, 1 point in the first 5 and 8 in the next 7 is 9 points total. 2 in the first 7, 7 in the last 5.

Oh sorry I forgot to reply the last one!
It's good to see the kind of effort he put out there on the ice. That effort is always valued of course. Obviously, guys like Pusnik from last year have also fit in well in the ALPSHL.
Passion is definitely a good quality. I think there are always places in decision making where the national team could improve for sure. If he keeps working perhaps he can carve a role out for himself at ECB.

Mmh I did not see the BGW-WSV game. Interesting.

Ok, well just looking at the situation as it seems to be. There are a collective of older players, they're not really cutting it. You have some middle-age players, they're not really cutting it. You have some legios, they're definitely not cutting it. You have some youngsters, they're not making a difference.
Is it not time to show the fruits of the academy? I've had my criticisms of the academy, but many others have been far more vociferous in their criticisms of the academy. I think it's time they can show what they're worth, what they've been up to. I hear endless praise in the Salzburg camp for Dario Winkler, why isn't he ready? What about Samuel Witting, most think he's the best U20 player, can we see him? I'm not a big fan of players above the U20 ranks milling around the farmteam, I think it does little for them and I think (if we're being genuine) it holds little promise for the club at that stage. Obviously they retained the majority of the group, 95s, 96s, and 97s included. Meanwhile, 00' born Benjamin Lanzinger is over there tallying points for Villach both last year and already now this year, Villach is 2-0, and then we all gather around in a circle and rebuke the Karnteners for being prideful when they boast that they produce all the top prospects.
When you play kids, even if they're 22 and not at all kids, against adults it's going to be rough. You're going to get mixed results. It will take some time to even know what you're looking at. But every player who shows promise produced from the Austrian system as of late has something in common, be it Mario Huber, Erik Kirchschlager, Christof Kromp, and that is a coach or a system had the gall to throw them into the line of fire and let them learn and prove themselves. Same with Nico Hischier, Nando Eggenberger, these athletes that scouts idolize.
It's been 3 games. Salzburg is down but certainly not out. My guess is they could continue keeping the Jungs (who are barely Jungs) in the freezer, keep working with what's there are eventually get a respectable but sub-par result. If I could propose a counter-solution. Throw the youths into the fire, and when they're done burning, we'll know whose gold and whose got to go.

I'll be out the whole weekend on a camping trip because it's labor day weekend here but it's alright, I can just go with whatever I get on autodraft.

Very exciting. I think he'll do well. Has had a difficult time adjusting to the small ice and the violence in the past but with every exposure gets more acclimated to it and like Carson Dimoff should eventually have no problem in the league.

Obviously we hope there will be one before Marco, that's still 3 years away.
However, Marco does look good. There's still a long way to go and anything can happen but I do think he will end up being drafted. I don't want to jump to conclusions or comparisons. However, he's been putting in some good work over the summer, we will see how he does at the next level and the level after that. ZSC is a good program for him for this upcoming year.
Haudum I feel will make it regardless.

Surprised no one came across this yet.

I feel like the team is mostly done making the 2017-18 roster but if not this guy doesn't seem bad. He seems like the right caliber athlete, I'm sure if one of the EBEL teams doesn't take a flyer a team in a similar league will.
-
I heard the news. Obviously, acceptance into the system could imply participation within any system team, and the final acceptance is still awaiting the approval of Celio (I'm optimistic), but I think it's a good step.

@Blaukraut I wouldn't panic over the report. Bokk and Seider are intriguing enough, if perhaps overrated in some German circles. I feel like mention of the others is more a product of where I think the scout originates from than comparative measure.
We will see about Fassler of course. He can definitely monitor his progress with Pusnik or Trothan as benchmarks, see where he's able to go in the next season or few seasons.

@kabidjan14 Do you work as a coach or scout?
For the sake of here I'm just a writer I guess. Of course I am otherwise involved but I don't take funds from any entanglements to ensure I remain as unbiased as possible.
