Ready for semifinals in the Norwegian Championship 2010:

Valerenga - Storhamar. Valerenga beat as predicted Manglerud Star in the quarters, while the former champions from Hamar was rather surprising winners in their quarters against Lørenskog. Storhamar is not using a lot of money in the last few year (payback for old fun), but their winning culture is incredible and eventhough they finished 8th in the league they are in the semis...again. but against Vålerenga it will be very tough. 80-20.

Sparta Sarpsborg - Stavanger Oilers. Nr 2 and 3 in the league. Both teams are famous for being summer champions and playoff chokers. Sparta beat their local rivals, Stjernen, while Stavanger took care of Lillehammer in the quarters. Stavanger has the best coach (Petter Thoresen, previous winner with Storhamar and Vålerenga) and possibly the better goalie...the rest is advantage. Stavanger looked better in the quarters and was very impressive in the last matches against Lillehammer. 55-45.

And the final is: Vålerenga vs Stavanger Oilers!

For the second time in th short history they are in the final. Last time was on 2006 and ended with a 0-4 loss to...Vålerenga of course.

Vålerenga is natural favorites with better team and home advantage, but Oilers have a great coach. I will go home to see finals 5-6-7....just hope to avoid a 0-4 loss again. 4-0 win i can take

Before yesterdays match it was 2-2 in matches. 4 out of 4 home wins.

Game 5 in Oslo. At Jordal Amfi. Vålerenga goes 2-0 up and is cruising. 2-1 on a deflected shot with 4 mins to go. 2-2 in 6 against 5 with 40 secs to go. Puck kicked in. Lovely to get the decission our way for once.

Oilers are now 3:2 up in matches and can be champions on home ice on monday. Luckily im stuck in norway for a long time with this vulcano cloud...
