    Hello,

I'm travelling to Klagenfurt from Finland in about two weeks and I'd love to see a hockey game there. Since KAC will already be on holiday then, a game with VSV would be a natural choice. I guess VSV will play against Linz in the quarter finals? I'm not very familiar with Austrian hockey, so are the playoff games usually sold out there, ie. is it possible to get a ticket at the arena before the game or should the ticket be bought beforehand through the internet, just to make sure you get in?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello!

I would suggest you to buy the ticket through the internet.
In Villach the play off games are usually sold out.
Via etix it shouldn't be a problem.

OK, vielen Dank. One more question: if I buy a student ticket, will my student card be checked when entering the arena, or do they have some other system? My Finnish stundent card naturally says "stundent" in English and it's been easy to get stundent discounts with it in many countries, but you can never be sure about these things. :)

in the regular season they don't perform backgrond checks, but last year in the play-offs they checked my ID card EVERY game.

But carrying your ID card with you shouldn't be a real problem ;)

have a lot of fun in Villach

Of course, but naturally it's a Finnish student card, so you never know if it's accepted of not. :P I'll buy student tickets beforehand and if there are problems at the door, I'll play a stupid tourist who only speaks Russian. :)

Thanks a lot for the help. I'm sure I'll have a good time there.

There won't be any problem concerning your Finish student card. If you don't get a ticket and the Stadthalle is sold out, there might be another opportunity to watch Austrian playoff hockey. Maybe there's also Red Bulls Salzburg vs. HK Jesenice just 20 minutes away from Villach in Slovenia. That would also be a hell of a game, thus I suggest you to visit both of them: Villach and Jesenice :D! ...

    Dear krookus!

Tickets for Play Off games will be available soon on the internet. Please chekc our website regularly (https://www.eishockeyforum.at/www.ecvsv.at). You can buy them by using your Credit Card and print the tickets on your printer. If you have problems contact me (stefan.widitsch@ecvsv.at).

You can buy a student ticket, but make shure to have a valid photo student ID with you. It must be issued by a University. If not, you won't be able to watch the game. Starting with the next game on Sunday 11th of March we have a special entrance for reduced tickets. You can only use this entrance.

To play a russian won't help, it's not necessary to try other nationalities either ;)

    c u in Villach,

    take care,

    Stefan, Ticketing VSV

I got in with my Finnish student ID without any problems. The level of the game wasn't the best possible, but the Stimmung was extremely good compared to for example games in Finland. It was also nice to drink beer while watching the game, here it's impossible. :) Thanks for great entertainment.

BTW. What's the name of the song that was played before the game and maybe also in the latter half of the game? I can't remember any lyrics but the audience sang the oo-oo-oo-o-o! thing along with it. Can you get an mp3 or see the video somewhere?

This song originally is called "Hey, wir woll´n die Eisbärn sehn". In Villach the crowd sings "Hey, wir woll'n die Adler sehn".

The version you heard was covered by "Noste". The CD will be available soon inclusive a DVD showing the most important scenes of this season.
