    Question 1:
Dou you think that there will be a significant attendance/spectator increase next season as HK Acroni Jesenice is joining EBEL?

    Question 2:
How old is Dvorana Podmežakla? Dou see any chance for someone (Slovenia, city of Jesenice) financing a new arena in Jesenice. If not are they going to renovate Dvorana Podmežakla?

Will see on all of the questions. Average number of spectators was about 1000 this year, but the league was really very weak and unatractive, so that was the main reason. In the times of AL the average number of spectators was about 2000, so we will have to get some old fans back. I expect that the average number of spectators will be somewhere betwen 1500 and 2000, and it will grow during the years. I expect more fans when we will play against KAC and VSV and a little bit less when we will play against other clubs, its also very important how our team will play, if they will have good results than we can expect more spectators, if not... Podmezaklja is 51 years old, they are talking about renovation now, but we will see. In the next 20 years we certainly wont see a new ice hockey ring in Jesenice, but i dont mind because i like good old Podmezaklja very much and all that we need is a renovation. The only problem is in the winter, because its damn cold inside, so they will have to do something about that, and when there is warm outside (august and septmeber) the humidity is very high - you have seen that for yourself last year (wet flags). These are the main problems. What will happen in the future? Only god knows (btw. he is a Jesenice fan :D)

1.Well, I think attendance will increase significantly, because we had just a few interesting games in last seasons. Only atractive opponents was Olimpia and Alba Volan from Hungary, what means maybe 3 good games per month. For example, 2 years ago we had only one home game in december in total. We had, I think, 5 away games and 1 home game. That was some crazy schedule constructed by our federation. Due to this, people simply forgot about hockey, when (after new year) home games started again. In EBEL as I understand will be 3 games every week, with attractive opponents, what means at least one home game per week. I think attendance will be at least doubled since last season.
    2. Podmezakla arena is owned by city of jesenice, so club has no chance of renovation. Club is simply user. As you know, there will be POOL B championship in Slovenia next year, that is maybe opportunity that arena could be renovated for that purpose, if only federation will decide, that this championship will be played in Jesenice. If they give this to Ljubljana (which is more then likely), we will stay put, where we are now. But still, who knows, there are plans (a few years now) for complete renovation of arena. How old is it?? It was covered (roof) in 1972, completely build in 1978. Rink with artificial ice was built in 1954 on open air.
You can see Podmezakla here: http://www.hkjesenice.com/index2.php?stran=O_nas&podstran=3

    yeah sure !!! :D

@ flags: they were absolutely wet, yes ... unbelievable.

Well, Podmezaklja in my opinion is a very good arena. It is nice to have one side with seats and the other one is free for everybody to stand. The away sector is opposite the main standing area .. next to the seating area.

Seats are not for real fans. Who can sit on hockey game, this is not theatre. We are very against seats on our side of arena.

Can i sign it somewhere? No really, its just not the same feeling if you seat during the ice hockey game, Tivoli was simular to Podmezakla but now there are seats everywhere and i really dont like it (not to mention that i dont like Tivoli anyway).

We will start petition as soon I heard something similar to this stupid idea. Please prepare standings for us in all austrian arenas. We were forced to sit in Innsbruck during WC, it was nightmare. A few of us got sleepy during the game.

There are standing areas in every arena in Austria ... but Innsbruck is a very special thing: It really IS a theatre, i mean at least the spectators obviously think that way as they can hardly be motivated to do something else but sit and watch each other. We call them "Tennispublikum" ... you know what I mean? ... Salzburg is similar ... but not quite that embarrassing.

Tennispublikum, good one. I know exactly what you mean. They just move their heads left-right and sit quetly. What a boring crowd. I thought in Salzburg are fans more "for action", couse they had a good team and they had good attendance? Ok, we will check them out, when we came there. If they are quiet, good for us, we will be loud, Jesenice will win the game. :)

Salzburg's crowd isn't used to hockey yet, because they just recently moved up from second to first division 2 years ago. I think the attendance in Salzburg is going to grow the next years like in Vienna for instance - at least if they are having succes, but noone would question that :D ...

I'm already looking forward to have a lot away fans from Jesenice when you play in the Stadthalle of Villach - the little Slovenian/Carinthian derby :) !

well, you must know, nobody is perfect. unfortunately too many spectators here in innsbruck do not suffer from the "restless-legs-syndrome".

    another question:

Do you know how many season-tickets/season HK ACRONI JESENICE sold within the last couple of years?

I've only heard two number from EBEL:

    KAC: 2200
    VSV: 1600

Im not sure. About 700 I think. I think it will be about 1200 this year and it will grow during the years. How do you write slovenian signs on this forum (for example the right version of podmezakla), if i try that something funny comes out.

There are standing areas in every arena in Austria ...

... standing areas yes, but in vienna not for away fans. away fans in the albert schulz halle are in a special sector behind their team. this sector is variable in size (due to the purchased away-tickets 50- 250 people) and this sector is a seating sector. you can of course stand there, as the most away fans do, but it is not so convenient, compared to the standing area. the good thing for the away-fans is, that one of the four buffets (with the beer!!!) is straight behind the away-area. but be carefull, the prices are not really "polite". get drunken in the vienna hockey stadium is a very expensive pleasure!

the reason for this new area (before this change two years ago, the away sector was in the standing area behind the guest team's goal), was a better security-situation there and the fact, that the vienese fans were heavily demanding the whole (cheaper) tickets of the standing-area, which is behind both goals. for away fans (in groups or dressed as an away fan) it is not easy to purchase those tickets, as the standing-sectors are mostly sold out to abos. as you can imagine, this was heavily critizized by the away-fans, but it is (and it will be) the fact.

a stadium map for your away-sector in vienna you can find on http://www.vienna-capitals.at

i am looking forward to see the loud, enthusiastic (and hopefully peacefull) slovenian crowd in vienna!

Thanks for info. We will came to Vienna, of course. Beer is near, that is good, we will not use seats, but we will survive that sector. We are peacefull, dont worry. If I understand correctly, this sector is in rang 2 (price 17 EUR)? It is expensive, but it is worth seeing, we are not there every day.
We will get drunk on the way, so we can save some money, since you have expensive beer.

Normally tickets for this sector are 17€ that's right. But they are selling it to AWAY-Fans for 12€ as far as I remember. All you have to do is calling 1-2 weeks prior to the game and tell them an estimated number of tickets you need. Then, 1 day before the game, you should give 'em the actual number. But it is no problem to take 2-3 tickets more or less.

by the way ... nice videos :D :
